Where's the d*** label machine?
There’s this group at work called the “Sunshine Fund”. They collect a couple bucks from people every month, and this money funds cakes for birthdays or going away ‘parties’. It can also fund flowers if any member of an employee’s family dies, or is sick…
Recently, the Nazi in charge of this fund, Sharon, decided to crack down on all the freeloaders. She made it a point to send out an email letting everyone know that unless they were a part of the Sunshine Fund, they were not allowed to participate in Sunshine Fund sponsored events. If you’re friends with someone, and it’s their birthday, according to our resident Nazi…you can’t celebrate. Her emails and announcements over the PA system? “There is cake in the break room. Come celebrate so-and-so’s birthday. Sunshine Fund members only.”
Just yesterday, apparently some employees dared the wrath of the resident Nazi, and ‘stole’ some cake. The following is the email that was sent to everyone…
This is so sad - once again someone has helped themselves to something that was not theirs to take - I am referring to the cake in the freezer that was put aside for the communications people who were unable (due to work commitments) to be there when we had the cake. Two of these people are birthday people which makes it even more sad.
My response, and I-can’t-take-it-anymore is on the same page…why wasn’t it labeled? Usually, once the events are over, whatever is left is usually a free-for-all for those who want it – even non-Sunshine Fund members.
Which brings me to another thought. What is it about people that they ‘forget’ what they purchased at the grocery store? I am, once again, referring to our illustrious roommate Deanna. Unless an item is CLEARLY MARKED, she just assumes that it’s up-for-grabs, or it’s something that she’s “forgotten” she purchased. Cracker, please. Unless you’re sure, don’t FREAKING EAT IT!
She was so distraught over the loss of her oil-soaked mozzarella (really, who would eat that?), that she left a note on the fridge about it. Maybe I should leave her a note about the loss of my various foods…
On a sidenote…TRosenwilkins…do you think the Raisin Bran Crunch is in danger? It is, after all, on the counter unlabeled…

I think the Raisin Bran crunch will be OK. The cereal has ACTUAL sugar in it as opposed to the llama ass-sugar she purchases from Trader Joe's, America's leading supplier of llama ass-sugar. Plus, she has an enormous box of Cheerios in the cupboard where she keeps the four year old chili. And while I'm thinking about it, what the crap is she doing with cereal? She doesn't eat it. She pretty much just gives herself milk dialysis every day. With that kind of milk consumption, she ought to have horse teeth. Hmmm. Maybe that's what she WANTS...
